Education and especially higher education have a significant role in the development of countries and two missions of the higher education including; the training of expert human capital and research and development can be considered as main missions of higher education in relation to economic growth and development in every country. The main aim of the present research is to study the higher education with the approach of knowledge economy for educating expert human capital. To achieve this goal, the researchers used document analysis method to review the studies related to this domain. The result of the research shows that among the indexes of knowledge economy, human capital index have had greatest impact on the economy growth. One the other hand, there is little coordination between the higher education system and labor system transformations, while humanities have been less suited to the needs of the labor market. Moreover, it was found that the brain drain renders slow economic growth in the countries of origin by reducing the pool of human capital.
