Studying the Effect of Comprehensive Quality Management on Knowledge Management (Case Study: National Library and Archives of Iran)

Abstract

The presented investigation was performed to study the relationship between the comprehensive quality management and knowledge management. In order to evaluate the overall quality management, Malcolm Baldrige's model was utilized with six components of leadership, strategic planning, customer orientation, process management, human resources management and information analysis. The knowledge management also includes five processes of knowledge acquisition, knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, knowledge storage, and knowledge use.
From the view of practical purpose and method, this research is stored in descriptive - survey research. The statistical population of the study was all managers, supervisors and experts of the National Library and Documentation Organization. To determine the sample size, the Cochran formula was used and according to the sample population of 866 employees, 266 persons were computed for the required sample size. The data collection instruments were standard questionnaire which their reliabilities were confirmed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.896. Structural equation modeling software Smart PLS was used for data analysis. According to the research findings, there was a positive and significant relationship between the leadership component and knowledge management in the National Library and Documentation Organization and the relationship between other components Comprehensive QM management with KM is not approved
