Examining the status and qualitative evaluation of MSRT Journals Based on Regulations on Determining the Credibility

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the situation and evaluate the structural and content features of the website of reputable publications of the Ministry of Education, in order to identify strengths and weaknesses and to improve the quality and quantity of publications and their compliance with the necessary standards.
Methodology: The research method is survey-descriptive, with an evaluative and webometric approach. The statistical population of the present study is website 1060, the title of a valid journal of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, which has been registered in the integrated journal evaluation system until September 2020.
Finding and Conclusion: The findings indicate that more than 85% of the publications are in Persian and affiliated with government organizations. Physical characteristics are considered more than content characteristics and less attention is paid to the index of indexing in reputable professional and scientific databases that help to promote the international position of the country. Also, the announcement of the judging process, which is very important from the authors' point of view, has not been properly observed. Only 10% of the publications were ranked "A" in terms of scores, but on the other hand, more than 75% of the publications were ranked "B", which with principled policy and compliance by the relevant authorities, it is hoped that in the future To be ranked higher.
